Scott Sliker is our Sales Tax Specialist and trainer. Prior to forming the Sales Tax Professionals with his wife, Lea, Scott brought over 20 years experience from the New York State Sales Tax Department concluding his tenure as a Field Audit Specialist. For more than 15 years Scott worked as a Sales Tax Field Auditor. Scott received his Masters in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University. During his career in sales tax audit, he specialized in coordinating and performing audits on location for a variety of Fortune 100 companies headquartered around the United States including New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, California, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, South Carolina, and others. Scott’s strengths are further enhanced by being well versed in the sales tax regulations in a variety of states. New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut audits were completed as part of his job duties. Scott was involved with managed compliance style audits, statistical sample audits, as well as detailed audits, while representing the Tax Department and assisting to guide companies through the audit process and subsequent to their completion. Scott has vast experience auditing in a wide array of industries including pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, plastics, automotives, advertising, construction, restaurants, and many manufacturing facilities.
Since leaving the state, Scott and Lea formed their own consulting business to offer this unique service. The Sales Tax Professionals is a company dedicated to providing clients with the most innovative approaches to sales tax.
